Anyway, what is this book about?
Well, it gives you an insight into how I make a living selling my social media skills to paying clients, and contains great advice on how you can do the same. The question I get asked most often as a freelance social media is how I became a freelance social media manager, so I thought I’d write it all down and make it available to you.
I talk you through how I have found clients, how I set my price levels, how I manage my workload on a daily basis, and how I stay ahead of the social media game.
If you want some practical advice on being a freelance social media manager, or just want to see if being a freelance social media manager is for you, then this ebook is perfect.
Here are a couple of excerpts from the ebook
On the skill levels required
“I subscribe to the view that you need skills in social media before you can sell your services for money to discerning customers. I wouldn’t employ a plumber who didn’t know at least how to change a tap! This book is most suited to those who are already at least partly skilled and looking to turn those skills into paid work. It is not suitable for those who think that ‘playing about on Twitter’ looks like easy money. It isn’t, especially not when you have to apply yourself to provide a good ROI for paying clients.”
On the importance of your own social media profiles
Yes, your clients will expect you to be active on social media yourself, but I’ve not found that the fact that my personal and professional Twitter account is probably the most neglected out of all of my profiles has stopped me getting enough work to keep me busy. I like to re-assure myself that the old adage of a builder’s own home never being finished is true. Saying that, if you have time to spend on your personal profiles, then there’s no harm in doing so.
There are lots more pearls of wisdom you can learn from to help you on your way to earning a living through your social media skills. Click on the box above to preview the book, and if you like it, you can buy it through Amazon.
Good luck!
